Sport fans should be in shock, NBA player Kris Humphries and his wife, Kim Kardashian, are getting a divorce. Just ten weeks of marriage the two are divorcing due to irreconcilable differences. Kardashian states, "I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I hoped this marriage was forever but things don't worked out as planned". This was the first marriage for 26 year old Humphries and the second for 31 year old Kardashian. The couple's marriage was show on E as a two part television program and had many lavish details. Due to the NBA lockout, Humphries is out of a job but played for the New Jersey Nets last year. Overall, I find this very amusing and funny to say the least. The E network made a big deal of the two and had previews of the big day before it aired on TV. On the show Humphries appeared to be a jerk and very big headed, where Kardashian seemed annoying and unintelligent. Hopefully the two can remain friends and work on their differences.

Paralyzed Rutgers player to lead team onto field
Paralyzed Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand will lead the Scarlet Knights onto the field this Saturday against West Virginia. It will be the first time LeGrand will be joining the team in the tunnel since his tackling accident last year at the Meadowlands. "Can't wait for Saturday, even with this forecast I am still pumped", LeGrand said referring to Saturday's weather forecast. LeGrand serves as an analyst on the Rutgers Radio Network. It is great to see LeGrand back on the field. I hope one day he will be able to walk again and be back to his original self.

Suh Trash Talking During Falcons Game
Suh is claimed to of trashed talked Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan as he was on the ground with a serious knee or ankle injury during this past Sunday's game against the Lions and the Falcons. Falcons wide receiver, Roddy White, and center, Todd McClure, say they heard Suh diss the Falcons quarterback as he was on the ground in pain. McClure states, "I had respect for Suh before the game, but when Matt was on the ground the things he was saying and the trash he was talking was definitely uncalled for". Some find it difficult to believe that Suh did this during a game because he was such a class act on and off the field during his time in Nebraska and in the NFL. Suh has yet to release a statement as to what he said on the field was true or not. I hope that these claims are false and this doesn't happen again. If anyone else has feedback, I would love to hear it!

Raiders' Palmer likely to start immediately
The Oakland Raiders expect Carson Palmer to start for the organization this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Palmer has not played a down of football since last December. The Raiders picked up the quarterback Tuesday and expect Palmer to play immediately. Oakland needed to replace Jason Campbell after he broke his collar bone against the Cleveland Browns. Kyle Boller replaced Campbell but will be sitting on the bench during this Sunday's game. As a result of this trade, the Cincinnati Bengals received a first round pick for the 2012 draft and either a second or first round pick in the 2013 draft depending on how far the Raiders go in the playoffs. With this requirement, this might be the last time Jason Campbell will be in an Oakland uniform, seeing as he is a free agent after this year. I am glad to see Carson Palmer back in the NFL and i believe he will be a good fit for the Raiders. I believe the Raiders are a contender this year.

Indy Car Racer Killed in Crash
On Sunday, two time Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon died when his car got caught up in a 15-car pileup at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Wheldon's car sailed over another vehicle and smashed into a catch fence during IndyCars season-ending race. Every race car driver goes into a race knowing that this could be their last but hope it will not be. Wheldon was driving from the back of the pack trying to make a move when he drove into the mess of cars weaving in every direction. He was unable to avoid the wreck in front of him and clipped another car, which sent his car airborne and burst into flames as he hit the fence. Drivers could only complete 11 laps of the race before it was over. Two hours later officials pronounced Wheldon dead. The driver was only 33. Officials were worried about aggressive driving in this race because of car speeds up to 225 m.p.h., 34 cars in the race, and a 200 lap course. Besides Wheldon, 3 others were hurt in the pileup. It is sad to see something like this to happen in any sport. Hopefully IndyCar will release the new, safer cars before the 2013 season. May Dan Wheldon rest in peace and may your thoughts and prayers be for the Wheldon family. He leaves behind a wife and two small children.

T.O. attempts suicide
This week's sporting news did not seem to mention the attempted suicide of wide receiver Terrell Owens. Some say the incident should not be a surprise since the star athlete shows drastically changed moods. This was not the first time Owens had try to commit suicide. In 2006, Owens reportedly overdosed on hydrocodone. It is sad to see an athlete like Owens trying to commit such a selfless act. Though after his reality show stints, people may now view this wide receiver as a joke and not to be taken seriously. Terrell Owens will always be remembered for his on and off the field antics, like pulling a pen out of his shoe to sign a football during the game or crying to the press about Tony Romo. Owens was a great wide receiver and had a knack to great the big time play.

Can You Find the Mistake
This past Sunday the Oakland Raiders defeated the Houston Texans 25-20, preventing the Texans to score in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter to go ahead and win the game. Raiders safety Michael Huff picked off Texans quarterback Matt Schaub in the end zone. It was an emotional day for the Raiders organization; players, coaches, and executives in the stands cried after that amazing last stand because Raiders owner, Al Davis, died the day before . Though a snapshot of the last play showed that Oakland only had 10 players on the field when a team usually has 11. It was amazing that the Raiders were able to shut down the Texans with one less player. Hue Jackson, Oakland Raiders head coach, did not even know of the mistake until after the game. This was a great, emotional win for Oakland and I believe the team is a contender in the NFL.

Renee
ESPN has been airing documentaries every Tuesday night at 8 PM and last week's documentary was on Steve Bartman's infamous fan interference in the Chicago Cubs playoff run which I blogged about last week, but this past documentary on October 4th was very interesting. It was about this man named Richard Raskind, who had felt trapped inside his body. Raskind was a very good amateur tennis player and a highly respected ophthalmologist (eye doctor), but having this was not enough for him. Raskind was a woman trapped in a man's body. Richard was not pleased with his appearance and started to under go hormone treatment and become a female. After the transformation was complete Richard, who changed his name to Renee Richards, up and left his family in New York and moved to live in seclusion in California.
Renee could not stay away from the tennis court after moving to California. With lack of better judgement she started to compete in amateur tennis matches in California. Word quickly spread around the country saying that Renee used to be a man. Tennis players began to drop out of tennis matches Renee competed in because they did not what to play against a transsexual. In 1976 Renee was banned access to the US Open that year by the United States Tennis Association. She took her ban to the US Supreme Court and it was overturned in 1976. This was the stepping stone for transsexual rights in any way. When Renee started to compete nationally she was in her 40's and did not win any titles, not because of her play but of her age.
Witnessing this emotional documentary made me realize that if one changes their sexuality and competes in a sport they should not be banned from that sport. The individual who goes through this transformation should be considered by their new sex not old. Everyone can learn from this documentary and become a better person from it.

Steelers 'taken back' by the Texans
Its not the start we were looking for Steeler fans. The Steelers are 2-2, with an embarrassing lost to the Houston Texans. On top of this lost Steelers quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, left the game with what appears to be a foot injury. Doctors believe it is a fractured foot, but will know more after the swelling goes down with a MRI. Another reason the Steelers are 2-2 is their defense and their offensive line. Last year the Steelers were first in the NFL in rush defense and are now 12th seeing what Arian Foster did to the defense on Sunday. Linebacker James Harrison said, "We played like garbage-period. We stink right now. We suck". With the offensive line the Steelers need to make some changes and possibly reach out to other players to come in and help the o-line. Hopefully, Mike Tomlin and the Steelers can bounce back and play better ball, before the season gets worse.
